COVID FasterCures Chart

My artist rendering of the global research for COVID-19 treatments and vaccine, compiled by FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute

We all want to live in a world where the COVID-19 virus is not deadly. And we will. Why? Because researchers across the globe are working together to prevent and treat it. They are already succeeding. The nonprofit Milken Institute’s FasterCures center launched a COVID-19 Treatments and Vaccines Tracker that compiles publicly-available information from validated sources into a spreadsheet that anyone can access at The multitude of research projects in the pipeline listed in the tracker include vaccines and treatments that use antibodies, anti-virals, cell-based therapies, repurposed compounds and more.

Every line in the spreadsheet brings me hope, because working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I learned first-hand that medical investigators are creative, collaborative, resilient, tireless, and ridiculously intelligent. They work with others who can help solve the a shared problem in other disciplines, other institutions and other countries. They are also backed by teams who are passionate about the work; in the lab, doing analytics, providing resources and streamlining the process.

What can we do about this pandemic? Prevent the spread of the virus. Help those in need. Then live each day in the knowledge that a better future is coming.
